The ban will take place in 2 stages, smoke flavorings will be prohibited in the majority of foods as of July 1, 2026. Smoke flavorings may be added to cheese and cheese products, meat and meat products, and processed fish and fishery products until June 30th 2029.
The same rule as for the two already banned smoke flavors will apply, the products produced before July 1, 2026 or 2029 can be sold until the best before/use by date
